Audit & Assurance
Independent statutory audits and assurance reports that satisfy the Companies Registry, the Inland Revenue Department, banks and funding bodies — delivered personally by a practising CPA.
Who needs an audit?
Subject to limited statutory exceptions — including companies that have validly obtained dormant status under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622) — Hong Kong incorporated companies are generally required to prepare annual financial statements and have them audited by a practising Certified Public Accountant, regardless of size.
Corporations are also generally required to submit audited financial statements and a tax computation with the Profits Tax Return (BIR51), subject to applicable exemptions and the filing instructions issued by the Inland Revenue Department. For most active companies, an audit is therefore a core part of annual compliance rather than a discretionary extra.
